Zscaler, Inc. has revealed a definitive agreement to acquire Red Canary, a leading Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider. This strategic decision signifies a major enhancement of Zscaler’s capabilities in advanced threat detection and AI-driven security operations.
With more than ten years of excellence in Security Operations (SecOps), Red Canary has enabled businesses to identify and investigate threats up to 10 times quicker—achieving an impressive 99.6% accuracy rate—while optimizing response workflows through automation. By merging Red Canary’s MDR expertise with Zscaler’s extensive cloud-native data and its AI-powered threat research division, ThreatLabz, the two companies are poised to transform the contemporary Security Operations Center (SOC).
“This acquisition complements our vision of disrupting legacy SecOps through AI and automation,” said Jay Chaudhry, CEO, Chairman, and Founder of Zscaler. “By bringing Red Canary into the Zscaler family, we’re combining the power of Zero Trust architecture with intelligent, autonomous security operations—creating a fully unified AI-powered SOC of the future.”
Zscaler currently safeguards almost 45% of Fortune 500 companies and runs the largest cloud security platform globally, handling over 500 billion transactions each day.
With significant innovations like Risk360, Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX), and Zscaler Exposure Management, the firm remains at the forefront of cloud-native security and AI-driven risk management.
Red Canary, well-known for its leadership in MDR, has secured top positions in the Forrester Wave™ for three years in a row and has been consistently featured in the Gartner® Market Guide for MDR for seven years.
The company is relied upon for its behavioral analytics, automated remediation, and agentic AI features that empower security teams to swiftly and effectively tackle emerging cyber threats across endpoints, identities, networks, and cloud workloads.
