Global management consulting and technology firm ZS has announced plans to expand its global workforce by 4,000 professionals, with India playing a pivotal role in this growth. The expansion comes amid surging demand for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), which have become essential to organisations’ digital transformation and operational strategies
Significant India Expansion
“India is an important and strategic growth vector for ZS. About 3/4th of our talent is based here. Out of our 38 offices globally, six are in India and are of significant size and scale,” said- Mohit Sood, Regional Managing Principal at ZS.
India serves as the firm’s operational “centroid,” supporting global clients across analytics, technology, and product development. ZS’s India teams play a critical role in delivering high-value services to clients in North America, Europe, and beyond.
Evolving Role of GCCs in Business
“GCCs have a significant impact on India’s GDP with the number of jobs they are creating. It is fantastic to see the opportunities for Indian talent and service providers,” Sood added.
Additionally, the composition of GCC teams has transformed. What once consisted primarily of junior-level roles has grown to include senior leadership with global responsibilities.
ZS’s Industry Focus and GCC Services
A key offering is ZS’s “GCC-as-a-Service” model. For example, in partnership with Roche, ZS manages a dedicated GCC in Chennai that operates as an extension of Roche, delivering data analytics support.
The firm also provides “experts on demand” to help companies launch new service lines, ensuring GCC teams fully understand business domains and processes to effectively support their parent organisations.
Impact on India’s Digital Economy
ZS’s planned expansion aligns with broader trends in India’s digital economy, where GCCs are becoming increasingly strategic assets. These centers support co-creation, innovation, and closer collaboration with global clients, strengthening India’s position as a hub for technology, analytics, and business transformation
