Food delivery company Zomato is facing criticism after one of its employees alleged that staff members were being removed from the organisation without notice or due process. The claims surfaced in a LinkedIn post that has since gained significant attention online.
The employee, Shashank Shukla, who joined Zomato in February this year, wrote in his post that the company was carrying out “unethical removals” of employees. He alleged that the decisions were taken without proper consent or consideration for the personal situations of those affected.
“This is to bring into your notice that Zomato is ongoing with unethical behaviour against employees of the organisation. I am a part of the organisation and would like to confirm that unethical removals of employees are going on here without even consent of employees,” Shukla stated.
He further claimed that Zomato failed to take into account family or personal circumstances before proceeding with terminations. “No matter what the situation is within your family, no one will understand and they will take action against you. They will fire you out and there is no action taken against upper management regarding their unethical behaviour,” he added.
According to his post, Shukla had first tried to escalate his concerns internally via email but decided to go public after he felt that the matter was not addressed.
The allegations have sparked discussions on social media, where users are debating workplace ethics, employee rights and corporate accountability. Zomato has not yet issued a public statement regarding the claims.
