Zoho Enters AI Race With Its Own LLM and Speech-to-Text Models

Indian SaaS giant Zoho has announced its entry into the artificial intelligence race with the development of its own large language model (LLM) and proprietary speech-to-text models. The move marks a significant step for Zoho in bolstering its AI capabilities across its suite of enterprise software products.

The company revealed that its AI stack—comprising in-house LLMs, vision models, and speech recognition systems—will be deeply integrated across applications such as Zoho CRM, Zoho Desk, and Zoho Writer.

“We have always believed in building deep tech ourselves rather than relying solely on external providers,” said Radha Raghunathan, Managing Director of Zoho Corp. “This AI stack, developed entirely in-house, will enhance context-aware intelligence within our apps, improving user experience and productivity.”

Zoho’s LLM is designed to understand domain-specific business contexts, providing more relevant outputs for enterprise users. The proprietary speech-to-text engine supports multiple Indian languages, a key advantage for accessibility in the regional market.

The company emphasized that all data processed through its AI tools will remain on Zoho’s private cloud infrastructure, aligning with its long-standing commitment to user privacy and data sovereignty.

Zoho’s AI efforts are part of a broader trend of Indian tech companies investing in indigenous innovation to reduce reliance on foreign AI platforms. The new models are currently being rolled out in beta, with full-scale deployment expected in the coming months.

As AI integration becomes a core differentiator in the enterprise software market, Zoho’s self-reliant approach positions it as a serious contender in the global AI landscape.
