YouTube partners with AIIMS and IICT to launch new AI tools for medical learning and content creation

YouTube has introduced a series of new AI driven features in collaboration with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies. The announcement was made at the annual YouTube Impact Summit, where the platform also shared new findings on its contribution to India’s economy. A report from a common research group found that YouTube’s creative ecosystem added more than Rs 16000 crores to India’s GDP last year and supported over 930000 full time equivalent jobs.

The platform said the new features are designed to support digital well being, build skills and help users access reliable information. With many people in India using YouTube to learn, the company is focusing on education and training through new partnerships.

As part of its work with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, YouTube and Google experts will conduct webinars, workshops and guest sessions for students preparing for careers in animation, visual effects, gaming, comics and extended reality. Students will also receive guidance for projects that use AI to create films, animations and games. YouTube will help the institute establish and grow its official channel.

YouTube is also partnering with the College of Nursing at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences to take nursing education online. Expert led modules on wound care, infection control and other essential skills will now be available to students and professionals across the country.

A new conversational AI feature has been introduced that lets viewers ask questions while watching videos and get instant responses. It is available in English for now, with Hindi support expected soon.

The platform is adding more tools to promote access to verified health information. First aid videos from trusted sources will now appear more clearly in search results in English and Hindi. Users can set daily limits for scrolling YouTube Shorts, and break reminders continue to support younger viewers.

For creators, YouTube has launched new tools to simplify production and protect creative work. The YouTube Create app now includes automated AI editing support. Another tool allows eligible creators to detect altered videos that misuse their face and request their removal.
