YouTube Expands Multi-Language Audio Dubbing to All Creators

YouTube has begun rolling out its multi-language audio dubbing feature to all creators worldwide, aiming to help them reach larger audiences across different regions. The update follows a two-year pilot programme that included well-known creators such as MrBeast, Mark Rober, and Jamie Oliver.

Initially introduced in 2023, the feature allowed select creators to upload alternate audio tracks in multiple languages. After extensive testing, YouTube is now making it available to everyone. Creators can either partner with professional dubbing services or use YouTube’s own AI-powered auto-dubbing tool. This tool is built on Google’s Gemini technology and is designed to replicate tone and emotion, creating more natural and authentic translations.

YouTube stated that the feature has already shown promising results. “Since then, we’ve seen the impact this can have — on average, creators uploading Multi-language Audio tracks to their videos saw over 25% of their watch time come from views in the video’s non-primary language. On chef Jamie Oliver’s channel, using multi-language audio tracks amplified views by 3x. And some of our most well known creators, like MrBeast and Mark Rober, are now reaching millions more viewers in new corners of the world,” the company noted in a blog post.

Alongside audio dubbing, YouTube is also testing multi-language thumbnails. This feature will allow creators to localise visual elements such as titles and images depending on the preferred language of viewers. YouTube described the expansion as one that “unlocks a world of viewers,” underlining its focus on helping creators grow across borders.

The full rollout will continue over the coming weeks, with support for languages including Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Russian, Arabic, and many more. With these updates, YouTube hopes to give creators greater flexibility to connect with diverse audiences and expand their global presence.
