XReal introduces 1S AR glasses with larger virtual display and Bose tuned audio

Ahead of the upcoming CES 2026, XReal has revealed a new pair of augmented reality glasses aimed at entertainment and everyday screen use.

The company has unveiled the XReal 1S AR glasses, which can project a 171 inch Full HD virtual screen. The device also features built in speakers with audio tuned by Bose. XReal said the new additions are designed for users who use AR glasses for gaming, entertainment and daily screen viewing.

At The Android Show XR Edition held in December, Google previewed Project Aura, a pair of Android XR based glasses developed by XReal. While details of the final product have not yet been confirmed, the company is expected to share more information soon.

According to the company, the XReal 1S is an updated version of the XReal One glasses launched in December 2024. The new model offers a 171 inch spatial display with Full HD resolution ranging between 1080p and 1200p. Brightness has been increased from 600 nits to 700 nits. The display supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, 108 percent sRGB colour coverage, a 52 degree field of view and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Users can also expand the virtual screen size up to 500 inches.

Powered by the XReal X1 chip, the XReal 1S supports native 3DoF tracking. This allows users to lock virtual screens in place and use wider display formats such as 21:9 and 32:9. The company said the glasses feature a reinforced USB Type C port and include a protective carry case for easier travel. The device also supports the XReal Eye add on, which enables 6DoF spatial tracking along with point of view photo and video recording with virtual overlays.

The XReal 1S includes automatic electrochromic dimming that adjusts to surrounding light for comfortable viewing indoors and outdoors. The company said the glasses weigh 82 grams and meet multiple TÜV Rheinland eye comfort standards to help reduce eye strain.

XReal has also introduced a new feature called Real 3D, which allows standard 2D content to be viewed in 3D without additional apps or software. Powered by the X1 chip, the feature can be enabled through settings and works across videos, games and personal media. Real 3D is available on the XReal 1S and XReal One Pro through a software update.
