Xovian Aerospace Secures $2.5 Million to Build AI-Powered RF Satellite Network

Bengaluru-based startup Xovian Aerospace has raised $2.5 million in a pre-seed funding round to develop an AI-native radio frequency satellite network. The round was led by Piper Serica and Turbostart, with participation from Inflection Point Ventures and Eaglewings Ventures.

The funds will be used to support the launch of Xovian’s first spacecraft on an ISRO launch vehicle, boost its engineering operations, and begin pilot testing with enterprise clients. The company is targeting the end of 2025 for the initial technology validation.

Xovian is creating AI-powered nanosatellites that are designed to capture and analyse radio frequency signals instead of relying only on traditional optical imagery. These satellites will collect dynamic RF data from sources such as aircraft, ships, and other emitters. The technology aims to serve sectors including maritime, aviation, defence, oil and gas, and weather monitoring by combining real-time RF signals with AI to deliver actionable insights.

Co-founder Ankit Bhateja described the company’s mission as creating “the nervous system for Earth,” adding that their system includes “satellites that listen, AI that understands, and infrastructure that enables immediate action.”

Xovian’s vertically integrated platform is designed to deliver up to six times more data value per dollar compared to traditional satellite systems. This efficiency comes from its ability to offer low-latency data, high precision, and end-to-end control from data capture in space to decision-making on the ground.

The company has plans to launch a network of more than ten satellites by 2027 to enable continuous global RF coverage. Xovian is already in discussions with six pilot clients from regions across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, including organisations in the maritime, oil and gas, and weather forecasting industries.
