Xiaomi confirms March 11 India debut for Xiaomi 17 series

Following its recent global unveiling, Xiaomi has officially confirmed the India launch timeline for its latest flagship devices. The company announced that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17, and Xiaomi Pad 8 will be introduced in the country during the second week of March, bringing its newest smartphone and tablet lineup to Indian consumers.

According to an announcement shared on X, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will launch in India on March 11, alongside the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi Pad 8. The confirmation comes shortly after the devices were first showcased during the company’s February global launch event held late last month.

The smartphones will be available for purchase through Amazon and the Xiaomi India online store. A dedicated microsite on the e-commerce platform has also revealed key specifications of the 17 Ultra, confirming that the Indian variant will match the global model.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process. The device will feature LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 onboard storage. In India, the smartphone will include a 6,000mAh battery supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

The company claims the device can deliver up to 1.5 days of usage on a single charge and retain around 80 percent of its original battery capacity even after 1,600 charging cycles. The handset will run on Android 16-based HyperOS 3.

Pricing for the Indian market has not yet been announced. Globally, the 17 is priced at EUR 999 (approximately Rs. 1,07,449) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 17 Ultra with 16GB + 512GB configuration is priced at EUR 1,499 (approximately Rs. 1,61,264). Meanwhile, the Pad 8 is priced at EUR 449.9 (approximately Rs. 48,397) for the 8GB + 128GB model.

With flagship specifications and upgraded performance features, the upcoming launch marks Xiaomi’s continued expansion in India’s premium device segment.
