Xbox Cloud Gaming launches in India: stream Xbox games on any device, no console needed

Microsoft has officially launched Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, making it possible for users to stream and play Xbox titles directly on their existing devices — without needing an Xbox console. The service allows Indian gamers to enjoy hundreds of titles from the Xbox Game Pass library on PCs, smartphones, tablets, handhelds, Smart TVs, and even Amazon Fire TV devices.

All users need is a compatible device, a Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller, a stable high-speed internet connection, and an active Xbox Game Pass subscription to start playing. This means players can now experience full-fledged Xbox gaming without buying physical hardware, similar to services like Amazon Luna or NVIDIA GeForce Now.

Through Xbox Game Pass, subscribers gain access to a vast and regularly updated library of games for a single monthly fee instead of purchasing titles individually. The platform also supports cross-platform play, enabling users to seamlessly switch between Xbox consoles, PCs, and other compatible devices through the cloud.

Microsoft offers three Game Pass tiers in India:

  • Essential: ₹499 per month
  • Premium: ₹699 per month
  • Ultimate: ₹1,389 per month
  • Each plan provides varying levels of access to game libraries, perks, and streaming capabilities.

How to get started with Xbox Cloud Gaming – On PC, phone, tablet, or handheld devices:

  • Open a supported browser such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Apple Safari.
  • Go to the official Xbox Cloud Gaming website.
  • Sign in with your Xbox Game Pass account credentials.
  • Connect a compatible controller like the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation DualSense, or DualShock 4.
  • Choose a game and start playing instantly.
  • Some PC titles support mouse and keyboard, while select mobile games include touch controls for easier gameplay.

On supported Smart TVs:

  • Download and open the Xbox app on a compatible Samsung Smart TV, LG Smart TV, or Amazon Fire TV device.
  • Sign in to your Xbox Game Pass account.
  • Connect a Bluetooth-enabled controller and start streaming your favorite Xbox games.

With this rollout, Microsoft is expanding its gaming ecosystem in India, aiming to make console-quality gaming more accessible to a wider audience. By removing the need for dedicated hardware, Xbox Cloud Gaming offers players a flexible, device-agnostic experience powered entirely by the cloud.
