Seoul-Based AI Startup Wrtn Technologies Raises $73.5M in Series B Funding

Wrtn Technologies, an AI startup based in Seoul, has successfully secured 108 billion won ($73.5 million) in its Series B funding round, aimed at enhancing its global footprint, the company announced on Monday.

This funding comes approximately nine months after the startup raised 25 billion won in a pre-Series B round, bringing the total investment to 130 billion won.

The newly acquired funds will be allocated for hiring additional staff, developing new content for its AI chat service named “Crack,” which is set to launch officially on Thursday, and covering outreach expenses, according to the firm.

Goodwater Capital, a new investor, spearheaded the Series B round, with participation from existing investors such as BRV Capital Management, Capstone Partners, Z Venture Capital, and Antler.

Wrtn Technologies specializes in enterprise AI solutions, including conversational search, writing assistance, and chatbot tools, utilizing advanced technology. Its AI platform integrates various large language models, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Crack, the company’s AI companion service, will soon be available as a standalone web and mobile app, separate from the Wrtn app. Previously, it was part of Wrtn since March of last year and significantly contributed to the company’s sales, which reached $1.36 million in December 2024, as reported by the firm.

The company has offices in Tokyo, Japan, and Dubai, with plans to launch Crack in these locations following its release in Korea.

“Wrtn has, since its founding, aimed to be a daily AI service used and grown by the public and not in a lab. We will continue to develop AI services that can be used easily and conveniently by the public,” CEO Lee Se-young said.
