Wipro, the IT Giant , is strongly developing a specific service line focused on Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in what has been described as a deliberate attempt to gain a greater piece of a rapidly expanding industry. Wipro would be better equipped to help international corporations establish and expand GCCs in India as a result of this move. Cognizant and Infosys, Wipro’s primary competitors, have already advanced in the industry. Through the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) paradigm, this service line will assist multinational corporations in navigating the whole GCC establishment lifecycle.
According to this concept, Wipro will help businesses establish their competence centers, operate them for a specified amount of time, and then return ownership to the parent company. The clients will be able to reduce capital investments and early-stage risks as a result. Rather, they will gain from Wipro’s extensive operational and delivery knowledge of the Indian IT market.
Industry insiders claim that the GCC model is taking off, with India becoming as the go-to location for multinational corporations looking for talent, cost savings, and innovation. In order to adapt to shifting customer demands and market conditions, Wipro is now reevaluating its whole organizational structure.
To oversee the new GCC practice, Wipro is now recruiting a Global GCC Practice Head. This person will be in charge of both starting the practice from scratch and collaborating closely with Wipro’s current market units and international business lines. In addition to appointing new leaders, Wipro is expanding its frontline staff by hiring GCC Specialist Sales and Business Development Executives. These executives will play a key role in building rapport with GCC center heads, spotting new prospects, and making sure Wipro’s products and services meet changing customer demands.
As part of its larger plan to reorganize its company around four new global business lines—cloud, enterprise technology and business transformation, engineering, and consulting—Wipro is expanding into the GCC market.
With more than 1,500 GCC companies currently operating in India and that number only expected to rise, Wipro’s renewed focus may help it close the competitive gap with peers and establish itself as a premier provider of IT services that can offer end-to-end, strategic value to multinational corporations.
