Telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the rollout of its 5G services in eight additional cities, taking its total 5G coverage to 17 cities across India. The newly added cities include Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara in Gujarat; Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nashik in Maharashtra; and Kozhikode and Malappuram in Kerala.
This expansion follows earlier deployments in Mysuru, Nagpur, Jaipur and Sonipat. Vodafone Idea has also confirmed upcoming rollouts in Meerut, Vizag, Madurai and Agra. The company initially launched its 5G services in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Patna, focusing on 17 priority telecom circles where it holds spectrum rights.
As part of its introductory 5G offer, Vodafone Idea is offering unlimited 5G data to users on plans starting from ₹299. Customers can expect improved user experiences such as smoother HD video streaming, low-latency online gaming, faster downloads and better access to cloud services.
Vodafone Idea has highlighted its commitment to building a strong digital infrastructure that supports both personal and enterprise needs. The company is adopting advanced technologies to ensure smooth integration of 5G with its existing 4G network, while also aligning with sustainability goals.
