Vivo is set to refresh its V-series in India with the upcoming Vivo V70 lineup, with early leaks pointing to a stronger focus on photography and performance. According to a report, the company plans to launch the standard Vivo V70 along with a new Vivo V70 Elite model. A third variant, the Vivo V70 FE, is also expected to arrive later in the year, offering buyers more options across different price segments.
The biggest highlight of the Vivo V70 series is expected to be its camera system. Both the Vivo V70 and Vivo V70 Elite are tipped to feature larger Sony image sensors paired with Zeiss lenses. This setup is expected to deliver better light capture, sharper details, and more accurate colours. Vivo is also said to be improving its image processing with AI-driven algorithms designed to enhance photos in low-light and high-contrast conditions.
While exact camera specifications are yet to be revealed, the upgrades are expected to go beyond the Vivo V60. For comparison, the Vivo V60 featured a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 3x telephoto lens, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. With larger sensors expected on the V70 series, improvements in low-light photography, dynamic range, and zoom performance are likely.
The Vivo V70 Elite is expected to be the most powerful V-series phone so far. Reports suggest it will use the most advanced Qualcomm chipset ever seen on a Vivo V device. This would be a clear upgrade over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 used in the Vivo V60, offering better gaming performance, smoother multitasking, and faster overall responsiveness.
The standard Vivo V70 may also see a major upgrade. If it turns out to be a rebranded version of the Vivo S50, it could feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, and up to 16GB RAM. This would place it firmly in the upper mid-range segment.
On the software front, both models are expected to ship with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box.
The report suggests a mid-February India launch for the V70 series, with the V70 FE arriving later. Pricing details are not confirmed, but a slight increase is expected. The Vivo V60 was launched at ₹36,999.
