Vivo S50 series specs leak online ahead of December 15 launch in China

Fresh details about Vivo’s upcoming smartphones have appeared online just days before their official debut. The Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini have been listed on a Chinese telecom operator website, revealing key specifications, colour options, and hardware details ahead of their launch in China on December 15.

The online listing shows that the Vivo S50 carries a 6.59 inch display and is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor with model number SM8635. The smaller Vivo S50 Pro Mini features a 6.31 inch display and is confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset with model number SM8845, which the company has already officially announced.

Both phones have appeared with model numbers V2528A for the Vivo S50 and V2527A for the Vivo S50 Pro Mini. They are listed in 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage variants.

Colour options for the Vivo S50 include Space Black, Confession, Inspiration Purple, and Serene Blue. The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is listed in Space Black, Confession, and Inspiration Purple.

Camera details from the listing reveal a triple rear camera setup on both models, featuring two 50 megapixel sensors along with an 8 megapixel third sensor. Both devices are also shown with a 50 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

Software details indicate that both phones will ship with Android 16 and support dual SIM connectivity. The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is confirmed to include LPDDR5x RAM with speeds up to 9600Mbps, UFS 4.1 storage, and a 6500mAh battery. It will support 90W wired fast charging and 40W wireless fast charging. The standard Vivo S50 will feature a 50 megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera with a 1 by 1.95 inch sensor.

The launch event is scheduled for December 15 at 7:00pm local time, which is 4:30pm IST, and pre orders are already live in China. Vivo is expected to introduce the S50 Pro Mini in other markets as the Vivo X300 FE, while a global Vivo V70 may arrive with specifications inspired by the standard S50.
