Vishal Salvi Appointed as Senior Vice President and Global Practice Head at Cognizant

Cognizant has announced the appointment of Vishal Salvi as Senior Vice President and Global Practice Head to lead its Cybersecurity business. In this role, he will report to Annadurai Elango, President, Core Technologies and Insights, Cognizant.

Salvi joins Cognizant from Quick Heal Technologies, a cybersecurity product company, where he served as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, he was the Global Chief Information Security Officer, Business Head of the Cybersecurity Service Line, and Senior Vice President at Infosys. Over his career spanning more than three decades, he has held leadership positions at PwC, HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Global Trust Bank, Development Credit Bank, and Crompton Greaves.

With extensive expertise in managing and delivering large-scale cybersecurity programmes, Salvi has played a pivotal role in driving transformative initiatives across industries. He also served as an Independent Director of the Data Security Council of India for five years and is an active member of several Advisory Councils and Boards that guide the adoption of cybersecurity best practices.

Salvi holds a degree in Computer Science Engineering and an MBA in Finance from Bombay University. He has also completed Executive Leadership Programmes at Harvard, Stanford, and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
