Viral Tesla hover shoe video confirmed as deepfake on social media

A video circulating on Instagram claiming to show Tesla unveiling a levitating shoe called the Tesla Glide has now been confirmed as a deepfake. The clip suggests that the product was demonstrated at the Indian International Consumer Expo 2025, with a presenter hovering a few inches above the ground. It describes the shoe as a device powered by magnetic levitation and AI motion control, calling it “the future of walking.”

Checks have confirmed that no such product exists and Tesla has not made any announcement related to hover shoes. The video has been created using AI based deepfake techniques.

Tesla is known for electric cars, humanoid robots, energy solutions and AI research. The company has never hinted at developing personal levitation footwear. A product of this scale would require complex engineering, safety testing and a formal launch. If Tesla had invented something so significant, it would have been announced through an official event or a post from Elon Musk. None of these signs are present.

There are clear indicators in the video that reveal it is artificially generated. The presenter’s face appears slightly distorted, with blurred edges and extremely smooth skin. Her expressions do not match her body movements, a common issue seen in deepfake visuals. The way the shoes lift off the ground also looks unnatural. A real hover device would show some visible support mechanism, which is missing. The audio sounds overly polished and does not match the ambient environment, another sign of AI generated voice tracks.

The account that posted the reel has no connection to Tesla or Musk. Many pages on social media now use AI to create eye catching future technology clips to gain views, and this video appears to fall into that category.

Deepfake content is spreading rapidly as AI tools can create convincing visuals within minutes. Many users scroll through short videos without verifying the source or authenticity. When a clip features a well known figure like Musk, it becomes even easier for people to assume it is real. Social media algorithms also amplify such sensational posts due to high engagement.

The viral hover shoe video serves as a reminder to cross check information before believing or sharing it online.
