With a professional journey of more than 20 years at the organisation, Mr. Vaidyanathan steps into the new role with deep institutional knowledge and extensive leadership experience across strategic distribution, bancassurance alliances, team capability development and senior stakeholder engagement.
During his career at HDFC Life, Vijay Vaidyanathan most recently served as Head/ Group Head – Key Alliances (Bancassurance). In this role, he led strategic bancassurance partnerships with major banking partners across India. His responsibilities included driving productivity and capability development among partner-facing teams while working closely with senior stakeholders to align business priorities.
He also contributed to several organisation-wide initiatives. These included involvement in the Wellness & Wellbeing ERG and participation in the Talent Council, supporting broader people and leadership development initiatives within the company.
Earlier in his tenure, Vaidyanathan held senior leadership positions within the bancassurance business. In these roles, he managed multiple national bancassurance partnerships with a focus on operational efficiency and revenue growth. He also led large distributed teams across the country, mentored emerging leaders and helped build the next generation of managerial capability within alliance teams.
Before taking on these responsibilities, Vijay Vaidyanathan was part of the Strategic Distribution and HNI Sales leadership team. In this phase of his career, he worked on retail distribution strategy and supported channel development initiatives that helped expand the company’s distribution network. He also played an important role in establishing and developing the HNI sales vertical.
With extensive experience across distribution strategy, partnerships and leadership development, his appointment as CHRO reflects the company’s focus on strengthening its human resources leadership with professionals who have deep internal understanding and long-term experience within the organisation.
