Based in Hyderabad, Hemal will drive business growth and strategy execution while strengthening the company’s go-to-market plans and strategic partnerships. His focus will also include scaling Vigocare’s AI-powered continuous monitoring solutions.
Before joining Vigocare, Hemal served as Chief Executive Officer at SVAAS Wellness Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, for about 1.5 years. During this period, he led the company’s early “zero-to-one” journey and built its go-to-market strategy for primary and preventive care offerings, including OPD Insurance and OPD Subscription products. He worked closely with general insurance firms, corporate clients, affinity partners, and D2C channels. He also oversaw product, technology, design, and business development functions.
Earlier, Hemal spent over 2 years at Vedantu as Vice President & Business Head. He managed a $15M+ K–12 business and led a cross-functional team of 1,400+ members across sales, academics, planning, and user experience. He launched new learning categories based on user insights and supported business unit growth.
Hemal also served for over 1 year as Chief Growth Officer at Emoha Eldercare | Lumis Partners. There, he shaped a subscription-based eldercare model, built product-market fit, strengthened the brand with a D2C approach, and later managed end delivery with P&L responsibility.
Hemal is also known for his entrepreneurial role as Co-Founder & COO at Affordplan. Over nearly 3.5 years, he scaled the company to a team of 400, expanded to 5 cities, grew revenues from ₹0 to ₹130Mn, partnered with 300+ hospitals, and helped raise $13.5Mn from investors including Kalaari, Omidyar, Prime Ventures, and Lok Capital.
Earlier, he worked at TaxiForSure.com as General Manager and spent nearly 5 years at IL&FS Financial Services Ltd as Senior Manager. He began his career in the Indian Army, serving for over 6 years as a Captain with high-altitude and operational leadership experience.
