Amid rising demand for faster connectivity, Vodafone Idea has announced a major expansion of its 5G network across India. The telecom operator plans to roll out 5G services in 90 additional cities over the next couple of months, while also strengthening coverage in key regions.

The company said its 5G footprint will grow from 43 cities to 133 cities by 05/2026. Currently, Vi offers 5G services across 17 circles, and this expansion will further enhance coverage in 15 circles, including major metro areas.

As part of the rollout, Vi will focus on regions with high demand and device usage. These include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (East, West), Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Haryana, and Gujarat. The company plans to prioritise industrial corridors, high data consumption zones, and emerging urban clusters.

Cities set to receive Vi’s 5G services include Chennai, Durgapur, Gandhinagar, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolhapur, Prayagraj, Puducherry, Sikar, and Varanasi.

In North and East India, expansion will cover areas such as Karnal, Panipat, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Haridwar, Asansol, Durgapur, Darjeeling, and Gangtok.
