Vestiaire Collective, the global platform for pre-loved luxury fashion, has appointed Samina Virk as global chief marketing officer, in addition to her ongoing role as U.S. chief executive officer.
In her expanded position, Virk will lead the company’s global marketing functions, including brand and creative, social media, public relations, and influencer marketing. She will continue to manage the U.S. market, overseeing commercial, merchandising, and consignment strategies from her base in New York City.
Virk succeeds Marie-Christin Oebel as global CMO, who had served in the role since January 2023 before leaving the company to pursue another opportunity.
Virk first joined Vestiaire Collective in 2015, when she led the company’s launch in the American market as its first U.S. president. Since rejoining in February 2023, she has significantly accelerated the company’s U.S. growth, helping it become Vestiaire Collective’s largest market and now contributing 20 percent of the platform’s total business.
“Samina’s appointment as CMO, alongside her leadership in the region, reflects our ambition to continue accelerating brand awareness and growth, especially in the U.S. market. It is a testament to her deep understanding of the business, her marketing expertise and her ability to drive meaningful results. Samina brings creative vision and strategic rigor. Her unique position empowers her to grow both our brand and our community in the U.S. and around the world,” said Fanny Moizant, president and cofounder of Vestiaire Collective.
Before rejoining the company, Virk held senior leadership roles at Target and eBay, and also served as U.S. president and global chief marketing officer at Threads Styling.
She will continue reporting to Moizant in her new role.
“I’m honored to take on this expanded role at such a pivotal time for Vestiaire Collective. As CMO, I’m excited to shape our global voice and creative strategy, strengthen brand relevance and deepen community engagement, all while staying true to our mission of transforming the fashion industry for a more sustainable future,” said Virk.
