Vasundhara Mudgil joins OpenAI as India Communications Lead

Marking an important step in the company’s growth and engagement within India’s fast-developing technology sector. Based in Mumbai, Vasundhara will lead OpenAI’s communication efforts in the region, focusing on building awareness, encouraging meaningful conversations, and shaping narratives around artificial intelligence and innovation.

With more than 15 years of experience across global technology and media companies, Vasundhara brings strong expertise in storytelling, content strategy, crisis management, and corporate communications.

Before joining OpenAI, Vasundhara headed communications at Spotify India, where she played a key role in the company’s successful entry into the Indian market and its steady brand growth over seven years. Earlier, she led communication strategies for Intel Corporation and worked at Genesis Burson-Marsteller, where she managed communication strategies for major clients in technology, telecom, and corporate sectors.

A graduate of IE Business School, Vasundhara is known for connecting creative storytelling with strategic business goals. Her appointment highlights OpenAI’s growing focus on India as an essential hub for innovation, collaboration, and the responsible development of artificial intelligence.
