Vahan.ai Secures Strategic Investment from LemmaTree, Acquires L.earn for AI-Powered Blue-Collar Hiring

Vahan.ai, a leading AI-based recruitment platform for blue-collar workers in India, has announced a significant strategic investment from LemmaTree, an investment firm founded by Singapore-based Temasek. As part of this pivotal deal, Vahan.ai has also acquired L.earn, a mobile-first digital upskilling platform previously supported by LemmaTree-backed GoodWorker.

This new capital infusion is set to significantly enhance Vahan.ai’s proprietary tech stack, particularly its advanced AI capabilities tailored for large-scale, multilingual recruitment. The company aims to more than double its monthly job placements from the current 40,000 to over 100,000 workers.

At the core of Vahan.ai’s platform is a voice-based AI recruiter powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o. This innovative system is capable of conducting human-like conversations with job seekers in English and Hindi over a simple phone call, streamlining the entire hiring journey from job discovery to interview scheduling. The platform plans to expand its language support to eight additional Indian languages, enabling deeper penetration into Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.

The acquisition of L.earn is a strategic move to boost worker employability by embedding upskilling content directly into the job search process. L.earn provides mobile-first, vernacular content specifically designed for gig and frontline workers in sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, and retail.

“This partnership accelerates Vahan.ai’s ambition to build the most advanced AI-led infrastructure for employment in India’s informal sector,” said Madhav Krishna, CEO and Founder of Vahan.ai. “With LemmaTree’s backing and the integration of L.earn, we’re reimagining how workers access livelihoods – through voice-led interfaces, multilingual support, and embedded skills that adapt to each user’s context.”

Glenn Gore, CEO of LemmaTree, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration: “We are thrilled to join forces with Vahan.ai as they redefine how businesses connect with frontline workers across India and beyond. Vahan’s innovative platform and passionate team are unlocking new opportunities for millions, driving both economic empowerment and operational efficiency.”

Vahan.ai also plans to explore new high-growth sectors and expand its footprint into Southeast Asia and the MENA region, particularly focusing on the Middle East where demand for Indian-origin blue-collar labor remains high. This strategic investment and acquisition position Vahan.ai to play a crucial role in transforming India’s blue-collar workforce landscape and potentially expanding its impact internationally.
