Trouw Nutrition South Asia, a global leader in animal nutrition and feed innovation, has announced the appointment of Uttam Routh as Director Human Resource India. In this role, he will lead the HR function for the company’s India operations, focusing on people strategy, leadership development, and organisational capability building to support Trouw Nutrition’s mission of “Feeding the Future.”
With more than 30 years of experience in human resources, business operations, and organisational transformation, Uttam Routh is recognised for his strategic insight and deep understanding of people systems. His leadership has been instrumental in creating agile, high-performing cultures across the energy, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.
Before joining Trouw Nutrition, Uttam served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at SunSource Energy, one of India’s leading renewable energy companies. During his two-year tenure, he strengthened the organisation’s foundation through initiatives in leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement, supporting the company’s growth during a rapid expansion phase.
Prior to that, Uttam spent an impressive 26 years at SUPERGAS (SHV Energy Pvt. Ltd.), where he rose through various leadership roles to become Director of Human Resources. Throughout his tenure, he played a key role in driving HR excellence through cultural transformation, leadership pipeline development, and operational efficiency programmes. His efforts helped establish SUPERGAS as a people-driven organisation with strong governance and sustainable talent practices.
Earlier in his career, Uttam gained hands-on experience in operations and people management with Vadilal Chemicals Limited and Hindustan Packaging Co. Ltd. These early roles provided him with a solid foundation in project execution and workforce development, shaping his holistic approach to leadership.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Uttam holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the B.K. School of Professional and Management Studies, Ahmedabad. His combination of technical acumen, operational understanding, and HR expertise continues to drive impactful strategies that promote both business growth and people success.
