Uno Minda Appoints Ravi Mehra as Managing Director

Uno Minda Limited, a leading global supplier of automotive systems and solutions, has revealed a strategic transformation in its leadership with the appointment of Ravi Mehra as Managing Director, effective April 1, 2025. This shift is part of a broader restructuring of both the leadership team and the Board of Directors, aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring sustainable growth.

Ravi Mehra, currently serving as Deputy Managing Director, will step into his new role after playing an integral part in Uno Minda’s success since joining the company in 1995. With over three decades of experience, Mehra brings invaluable industry knowledge and a deep understanding of the company’s operations, making him well-suited to guide Uno Minda into its next phase of growth.

As part of the restructuring, Uno Minda will separate the roles of Chairman and Managing Director. Nirmal Kumar Minda, who has been at the helm for years, will transition to the position of Executive Chairman. In this new capacity, he will focus on the company’s strategic direction, oversee business activities, and mentor the leadership team, while also championing employee development and well-being. Nirmal continues to lead Uno Minda towards its vision of building a sustainable organization.

“This strategic realignment and the strengthening of our Board reflect Uno Minda’s commitment to robust corporate governance and building a sustainable organization,” said Nirmal Kumar Minda, Executive Chairman of Uno Minda. “We are confident that Ravi Mehra’s leadership and the diverse expertise of our new Board members will be invaluable in driving Uno Minda’s continued success.”

In addition to these changes, Uno Minda has appointed four new members to its Board, further enhancing its leadership team’s diversity and expertise. Shekar Viswanathan joins as Independent Director, bringing over 40 years of experience, including his tenure as Vice Chairman and Whole-time Director of Toyota Kirloskar Motors Private Limited.

Abhay Damle, a former Indian Revenue Service officer with significant government experience, also joins as Independent Director. Damle’s previous roles include Joint Secretary of MoRTH and Director at the Central Institute of Road Transport.

Two Non-Executive Directors, Paridhi Minda and Pallak Minda, have also been appointed. Both have been integral to the Uno Minda Group since 2001, contributing to management and entrepreneurship efforts.

This leadership revamp signals Uno Minda’s commitment to innovation, governance, and long-term sustainability in the automotive sector.
