Unexpected Indian Cities Emerge as New Hubs for Global Capability Centers

India’s Global Capability Center (GCC) ecosystem experienced significant growth in Q2 CY2025, with more than 16 new GCCs launched across various industries and global regions. While traditional hubs like Bengaluru and Hyderabad continue to draw a substantial portion of these centers, a new trend is surfacing: several unexpected Indian cities are now emerging as appealing destinations for GCC expansion.

Recent data reveals a shift in India’s GCC growth away from the established Tier 1 metropolitan areas. Cities such as Kolkata, Nagpur, and Noida have each welcomed more than one new GCC during the quarter, indicating their rising attractiveness. Pune, in particular, has positioned itself as a strong competitor, attracting over two new GCCs in the same timeframe.

This transformation is primarily due to the advancing infrastructure in these emerging locations, which features enhanced connectivity, an expanding talent pool, and supportive local ecosystems. These elements are rendering them increasingly viable and appealing options for multinational corporations aiming to establish or expand their capability centers in India.

The trend indicates a strategic adjustment by global companies, looking to capitalize on the cost-effectiveness and talent availability in these growing urban centers, further reinforcing India’s status as a global leader in the GCC arena.
