TraceX Labs has introduced TraceX Guard, an AI-powered all-in-one mobile security platform created to tackle India’s expanding mobile cybercrime challenge. With smartphones widely used for UPI transactions, Aadhaar-linked services, banking, and social networking, attackers are increasingly exploiting mobile devices to carry out fraud, phishing attacks, and APK malware infections.
Cybercriminals are distributing malicious APK files through platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram, often disguising them as traffic challan apps, wedding invitations, loan approvals, adult video call apps, or cloned government service applications. Once installed, these trojanised apps request excessive permissions and deploy Remote Access Trojans (RATs), allowing attackers to access SMS messages, OTPs, banking apps, photos, microphones, and cameras.
