Titan Unveils JALSA, Its First Ultra-Luxury Tourbillon Watch

Titan has launched JALSA, a limited-edition ultra-luxury watch from its 18K gold Nebula collection. Marking a milestone for the brand, JALSA is also India’s official entry to the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) 2025, one of the most prestigious global events for fine watchmaking.

Created to honour the 225th anniversary of Jaipur’s Hawa Mahal, the watch reflects the city’s iconic architecture and traditional craftsmanship. It features Titan’s in-house flying tourbillon movement, crafted with 144 components and 14 jewels to enhance precision. The movement can be seen through a sapphire crystal caseback, and includes architectural bridges inlaid with red agate.

The dial is a miniature hand-painted scene by Padma Shri awardee Shakir Ali, using traditional Jaipur painting techniques and natural gemstone pigments. It illustrates a royal procession in front of the Hawa Mahal, blending fine art with watchmaking. Each of the 10 JALSA pieces will have a unique hand-painted dial by the artist.

The watch includes several standout features such as sapphire crystal magnifiers on the minute hand and sapphire crystal watch hands. It is priced at ₹40,50,000, further marking Titan’s move into the global luxury watch space.

This is the first time Titan has entered a timepiece into the GPHG, showcasing its ambition to compete with the world’s top watchmakers. Speaking about this move, Titan Managing Director C.K. Venkataraman said, “We decided to really stretch ourselves and create something that matches the best in the world. The GPHG platform is a global benchmark, and entering it was a deliberate decision to test our capabilities.”

Titan had introduced its first in-house tourbillon movement around seven to eight months ago. JALSA builds on that progress and sets a new benchmark for the company’s design and engineering goals.

While Titan has a strong foothold in India’s mid-premium and affordable luxury watch markets, the launch of JALSA signals its push into the ultra-luxury segment. The Nebula line has previously featured watches priced above ₹7–8 lakh, with some custom pieces reaching even higher.

Venkataraman added, “There is a large base of discerning customers already buying watches in the ₹50,000–₹2 lakh range. We believe the appetite exists for higher-end watches, especially when backed by a trusted brand like Titan.”
