Titan Partners with GoDaddy to Compete with Google and Microsoft in Global Business Email Market

Email startup Titan has formed a partnership with web hosting leader GoDaddy to expand in developing markets and compete with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 in the 60 billion dollar global business email sector.

The agreement will integrate Titan’s AI-powered email platform into GoDaddy’s Professional Email service, opening access to millions of small businesses worldwide. Titan, which reached profitability earlier this year, has doubled its customer base in the past two years to 2.3 million mailboxes.

“We’re taking on Google and Microsoft by carving out a niche their products don’t serve,” said Bhavin Turakhia, Titan’s founder and CEO. He explained that the company is targeting new small businesses rather than the enterprise customers that are the main focus of larger tech firms.

With GoDaddy registering 22 per cent of all new domains globally, Titan hopes to become the default email provider for over 40 per cent of new businesses. “Our partnership with GoDaddy marks a pivotal moment in making cutting edge professional email accessible to businesses of all sizes,” said Turakhia. “By combining Titan’s innovative email offering with GoDaddy’s global reach, we’re helping entrepreneurs worldwide gain a competitive edge with tools designed to amplify customer engagement and drive growth.”

The move comes as Titan, backed by WordPress parent company Automattic, continues its profitable growth. In 2021, Titan raised 30 million dollars from Automattic at a valuation of 300 million dollars.

“Small businesses need intelligent tools that make it easy to connect with customers and drive growth,” said Oliver Hoare, GoDaddy’s vice president of strategic partnerships. The service will be made available to GoDaddy customers in developing markets from August 12.

Founded in 2018, Titan offers AI-assisted email composition, message tracking, appointment scheduling and campaign management. The company places strong emphasis on security and service uptime. “Customers use AI to write drafts, refine content, get feedback and reply to emails,” Turakhia said. Titan believes these features help businesses boost customer engagement, build their brand and simplify daily operations.

“Small businesses are the foundation of the global economy, and they deserve the same powerful tools that large enterprises use to succeed,” Turakhia added. “Our partnership with GoDaddy will democratise access to these advanced email capabilities, empowering millions of businesses worldwide to enhance their communication and marketing efforts.”

Operating globally, Titan aims to reach 10 million mailboxes within two to three years, projecting 40 million dollars in annual recurring revenue from existing and new contracts. “Titan is profitable and cash flow positive,” Turakhia said, noting the company has adequate funds and is not actively seeking more capital.

Ninad Raval, Titan’s vice president of product and design, said the company’s approach follows a “Maslow’s hierarchy of needs” model for small businesses, focusing first on growth and customer acquisition rather than on collaboration tools common in enterprise platforms.
