Tesla Expands India Presence with New Showroom in Delhi’s Aerocity

Tesla India Motor & Energy has taken a major step forward in expanding its footprint in the country by leasing retail space in New Delhi’s Aerocity for its third showroom in India. The new space, located on the ground floor of Worldmark 3, covers 8,200 square feet and comes at a starting monthly rent of Rs 17.22 lakh, equating to Rs 210 per square foot. The agreement includes a rent escalation of 15 per cent every three years.

According to official records, Tesla has signed a nine-year lease for this space, with the transaction being registered on July 30. However, the lease commenced on March 15, and rent payments began on July 13. The agreement also includes a security deposit of Rs 1.03 crore, with a lock-in period of three years. Tesla will receive 10 dedicated parking slots at Rs 6,000 each per month and is expected to pay common area maintenance charges of Rs 33.5 per square foot monthly.

This latest addition follows Tesla’s recent lease of another retail space in Gurgaon. Signed earlier this week, the nine-year lease covers a 33,475-square-foot space on the ground floor of Orchid Business Park on Sohna Road. The property will function as a service centre, delivery hub, and retail showroom, with a monthly rent of Rs 40.17 lakh or Rs 120 per square foot. The lease also includes an annual rent increase of 4.75 per cent.

In March, Tesla leased a high-value showroom space in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, widely known as India’s most expensive commercial district. The five-year lease covers a premium property where rent starts at Rs 35.26 lakh per month or Rs 888 per square foot. Tesla launched the Mumbai showroom on July 15, in line with the debut of its Rs 60-lakh Model Y car in the Indian market.

Additionally, in June 2025, Tesla secured a 24,565-square-foot warehousing facility in Kurla West, Mumbai. The facility will serve as a vehicle service centre and garage, excluding any bodywork or spray painting services. The five-year lease carries a starting monthly rent of Rs 37.53 lakh, working out to Rs 153 per square foot.

Tesla’s registered office in India is situated at Tablespace in Panchshil Business Park, Pune. The company has also taken a co-working office near the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.
