Tesla has officially opened a unique retro-futuristic diner in Los Angeles that combines nostalgic American charm with modern technology. Located on Santa Monica Boulevard, the Tesla Diner features a full drive-in movie theatre and serves comfort food such as burgers, hot dogs, wings, and hand-spun milkshakes.
Content creator Jacklyn Dallas, who regularly shares tech updates, reported the launch and shared a glimpse inside the new diner through a video on X. According to her, the food is served in boxes styled after the Tesla Cybertruck, Tesla’s all-electric pickup truck.
One of the diner’s standout features is that Tesla owners can order food directly from their car screens. The audio from the massive 45-foot movie screens syncs seamlessly with the Tesla vehicle’s sound system, offering an immersive movie and dining experience without leaving the car.
Inside the diner, Tesla’s humanoid robot Optimus is seen serving popcorn, further enhancing the futuristic feel. The venue also includes 80 Superchargers, making it a hotspot for Tesla users and tech enthusiasts.
On 14 July 2025, Elon Musk visited the new Tesla Diner and praised the project on X, saying, “I just had dinner at the retro-futuristic @Tesla diner and Supercharger. Team did great work making it one of the coolest spots in LA!”
This concept was first hinted at in 2018 when Musk mentioned plans to build a classic drive-in restaurant with roller skates and rock music at a Supercharger station in Los Angeles.
The diner is a two-storey building with an outdoor rooftop area. Construction for the location began in late 2023 and has now become a destination that brings together food, entertainment, and technology in one space.
