Wishing Mr. Steve Vintz and Mr. Mark Thurmond greater responsibilities and exciting challenges in this impressive new chapter!
Tenable has announced a major leadership change, naming Steve Vintz and Mark Thurmond as permanent co-CEOs. Having served as interim co-CEOs since December 2024, they steered the company through a challenging period following the passing of former CEO Amit Yoran earlier this year. Under their leadership, Tenable has seen remarkable growth in exposure management and cloud security, further strengthened by the strategic acquisition of Vulcan Cyber.
In another significant move, Tenable has appointed Eric Doerr as its new Chief Product Officer. With nearly three decades of experience leading product innovation at industry giants like Google Cloud and Microsoft, Doerr brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. His appointment marks a pivotal moment for Tenable as it seeks to enhance its cybersecurity offerings and take its Tenable One platform to new heights.
Doerr will now head the global product organization, shaping the company’s strategy, development, and execution across its expanding cybersecurity portfolio. This aligns with Tenable’s vision to strengthen its position as a leader in exposure management, particularly in light of the growing demand for cloud security solutions.
“Tenable has a clear and compelling vision for the future of cybersecurity—one that unifies visibility, prioritization, and remediation across the modern attack surface,” said Steve Vintz, co-CEO, Tenable. “Eric’s deep expertise in cloud-native security, threat intelligence, and large-scale product innovation makes him the ideal leader to advance our exposure management vision and accelerate our impact across the enterprise.”
Doerr, previously Vice President of Security Products at Google Cloud, oversaw products like Google SecOps (formerly Chronicle) and Google Threat Intelligence. He also spent over 20 years at Microsoft, leading key security initiatives.
“I’m excited to join Tenable at such a transformative moment,” said Doerr. “Tenable’s forward-thinking approach to exposure management and its rapid innovation in cloud security make this an incredible opportunity.”
Shai Morag, the current CPO, will remain during the transition, with Tenable expressing gratitude for his role in the company’s product strategy.
