Technopark’s expansion in Thiruvananthapuram set to create 50,000 new IT jobs

Thiruvananthapuram’s IT landscape is poised for a major transformation as Technopark advances large-scale developments across Phases I, III, and IV. The expansion is expected to generate at least 50,000 new jobs through the upcoming IT infrastructure projects.

Technopark CEO Sanjeev Nair described the initiatives as a “game-changer” for the region’s technology ecosystem. He said, “Presently, we are focusing on optimal utilisation of available land parcels and completion of ongoing infrastructure projects at Phases I, III and IV. Once these reach full utilisation, additional expansion will be considered based on feasibility studies, demand assessment and availability of encumbrance-free land, in accordance with statutory guidelines.”

In Phase I, Brigade Group’s first IT tower, Brigade Square (1.85 lakh sq ft), is nearing completion and is expected to be operational within a few months. Construction of the World Trade Centre by Brigade, featuring nearly 1.5 million sq ft of built-up space, is set to begin soon. Kallayi, a 50,000 sq ft building, is ready for inauguration, while Chaliyar, another 50,000 sq ft prefabricated structure designed as a Global Capability Centre hub, is scheduled for completion by December 2025. Caspian Techparks India Pvt Ltd is also planning a 1 lakh sq ft IT building on 81.42 cents of land within Phase I.

Phase III will see Taurus Investment Holdings India launch the second phase of its Taurus Downtown Trivandrum project early next year. The first phase, Niagara Building (1.5 million sq ft), is fully occupied by Fortune 500 companies, GCCs, and other enterprises. The ecosystem is further strengthened by the Global Public School, which has begun admissions for the June 2026 academic session at its new Phase III campus.

In Phase IV, Tata Consultancy Services is developing a 1.2 million sq ft campus expected to be completed by January 2026, alongside the first IT tower under the Quad Project, which is set to commence construction shortly. Technopark sources revealed that several Expressions of Interest have been received for leasing land in Phases III and IV.

Over the past six years, Kerala has added 46.47 lakh sq ft of new IT space—20.97 lakh sq ft in Technopark, 22.62 lakh sq ft in Infopark, and 2.88 lakh sq ft in Cyberpark. During the same period, 45,869 new jobs were created across the state’s IT parks, including 15,000 in Technopark, 29,700 in Infopark, and 1,169 in Cyberpark.
