Major breakthrough by Tamil Nadu authorities exposed a vast human-trafficking network connected to high-risk cyber fraud centres operating out of Myanmar. The Tamil Nadu cybercrime wing arrested four individuals — Manavaalan (35), Rajkumar (36), Deepak Dona (27) and Jovin Abishek Rajan (28). The group is accused of trafficking a young man from Tamil Nadu to KK Park scam complex in Myawaddy, a location widely associated with global cybercrime syndicates. All four suspects originate from the Thanjavur, Thiruvarur and Cuddalore districts.
The arrests were executed under Operation Blue Triangle in which investigators discovered that 35 residents from Tamil Nadu were among the 465 Indian citizens recently rescued from KK Park. This rescue followed a Myanmar military raid that exposed extensive human trafficking pipelines, forced labour systems and large-scale online fraud operations controlled by international criminal syndicates.
According to Tamil Nadu police officials, the arrested recruiters helped establish a fake company named DIY inside the KK Park compound. This shell firm reportedly executed fraudulent investment schemes, digital arrest scams, romance scams and other online fraud formats. Key handlers coordinating these operations were allegedly based in Malaysia, forming part of a wider cross-border cybercrime ecosystem.
Investigators further revealed that the recruiters trafficked at least 18 job-seekers from Tamil Nadu after luring them with promises of lucrative IT and data-entry jobs abroad. Victims were flown to Thailand on tourist visas before being smuggled through dense forests and river routes into Myanmar’s rebel-controlled territories. Once trapped inside compounds like KK Park, their passports were seized and they were placed under constant surveillance. Many victims from Tamil Nadu reported intimidation, physical violence and mental harassment for failing to meet daily scam quotas.
Police have charged the accused under stringent laws related to human trafficking, abduction and organised crime including the possibility of life imprisonment. The Tamil Nadu government has reiterated its commitment to dismantling international cybercrime recruitment networks and ensuring stronger protection for vulnerable job-seekers targeted by foreign fraud syndicates.
