TakeMe2Space raises $5 million to build India’s first orbital data centre network

Hyderabad based space technology startup TakeMe2Space has raised $5 million in seed funding to move closer to its goal of creating India’s first orbital data centre infrastructure.

The funding round was led by Chiratae Ventures, with participation from Unicorn India Ventures, Artha Venture Fund, and Seafund. The investment signals strong confidence in the startup’s plan to enable large scale data processing directly in space.

The newly raised capital will be used to expand TakeMe2Space’s satellite constellation and significantly scale its in orbit artificial intelligence computing capabilities. A major focus will be on developing high power compute satellites that can process data close to its source. This approach reduces dependence on ground based systems, lowers latency, improves bandwidth efficiency, and opens up new possibilities for space based analytics and decision making.

TakeMe2Space was founded with the aim of changing how data is managed beyond Earth. The company operates at the intersection of space technology, AI, and advanced computing. Its orbital data centre concept is designed to support use cases such as Earth observation, climate monitoring, defence and security analytics, satellite to satellite communication, and real time processing of large volumes of data generated in orbit. By shifting computing to space, the startup seeks to overcome the challenges of transmitting massive amounts of raw data back to Earth.

TakeMe2Space investors in the round see strong long term potential in this approach, especially as demand rises for faster and more autonomous data processing during space missions. AI driven satellites and on orbit computing are increasingly seen as essential for the next generation of commercial and strategic space infrastructure.

With this funding, TakeMe2Space plans to accelerate research and development, strengthen its engineering teams, and move closer to deploying operational systems in orbit. The development reflects the growing momentum in India’s space ecosystem, where private companies are taking on ambitious and globally competitive projects.
