Marking a new phase in its India journey, Belgian chemical manufacturing major Syensqo has inaugurated its Global Capability Center (GCC) in Pune, strengthening its long-term commitment to the country.
The newly launched GCC will support Syensqo’s global operations with advanced digital capabilities. These include cloud platforms, ERP systems, cybersecurity solutions, and data and AI engineering. The centre is expected to play a critical role in driving innovation and enabling the company’s global transformation programs.
The launch comes at a time when India continues to gain momentum as a global digital and technology hub. Syensqo’s move aligns with the broader Digital India vision and reinforces India’s growing importance as a strategic destination for global capability and innovation centres.
Syensqo has maintained a presence in India since 2005 and continues to expand its footprint across the country. Its existing operations include manufacturing facilities in Gujarat and Maharashtra, a Research & Innovation (R&I) centre in Vadodara, and sustainable farming initiatives in Rajasthan. The addition of the Pune GCC highlights the company’s ongoing investments and focus on scaling its India operations.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Belgium’s Economic Counsellor Patrick Govaert and hub.brussels Trade & Investment Commissioner Bart Vandeputte. Their presence underscored the strengthening economic and technological collaboration between Belgium and India.
Further investments from Belgian companies into India are expected following the announcement of the EU–India Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is likely to enhance bilateral trade and industrial partnerships.
