Food delivery platform Swiggy has launched a new feature called DeskEats, aimed at making mealtimes more convenient for office-goers. The service is now available in 30 Indian cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Pune, covering over 7,000 tech parks, business centres and corporate hubs.
DeskEats is a curated food delivery experience designed especially for professionals managing busy workdays. Users can find it in the Swiggy app by searching for “Office” or “Work”.
With access to more than 700,000 food items from over 200,000 restaurants, DeskEats brings several themed food collections to cater to everyday workplace food situations. Some of the categories include “Stress Munchies” for snacking under pressure, “Deadline Desserts” for sweet cravings, “Value Combos” for budget meals, “Healthy Nibbles” for health-conscious choices and “One-handed Grabbies” featuring food that can be eaten with one hand while working. Other collections such as “Sip-tastic Fuel” and “Teamwork Bites” cater to beverage breaks and group orders.
According to Swiggy, insights from the pilot phase reveal shifting food preferences among working professionals. In Bengaluru, Chicken Popcorn was the top choice in the Stress Munchies category. Fries were most popular in Mumbai while Garlic Breadsticks led in Gurugram. Salads emerged as the most ordered item in the Healthy Nibbles category across cities. Interestingly, nearly 30 percent of all DeskEats orders came from the One-handed Grabbies section. Among all cities, Mumbai recorded the highest usage of DeskEats.
“Today’s corporate professionals are more time-strapped and choice-rich than ever before. With the launch of DeskEats, we’ve reimagined how food delivery fits into a busy, high-performance workday. Whether it’s a quick bite between meetings or a team treat after a deadline, DeskEats is built to match the rhythm of an office day,” said Deepak Maloo, Vice President of Food Strategy, Customer Experience and New Initiatives at Swiggy.
DeskEats builds on the success of Swiggy’s Corporate Rewards programme, which has already reached 14,000 organisations and enrolled more than 150,000 employees in less than three months. The programme allows companies to provide employees with exclusive food-related perks, such as a discount of Rs 225 on food delivery, up to Rs 2,000 off on Dineout bookings and a Rs 100 discount on Swiggy Instamart orders.
