Wishing Ms. Suparna Mitra new horizons, meaningful opportunities, and great success in their future endeavors!
A remarkable era at Titan Company is drawing to a close as Suparna Mitra, the trusted force behind its Watches and Wearables Division, has decided to step down from her role. In an official exchange filing dated May 13, the renowned Tata enterprise announced Mitra’s resignation, which she tendered due to personal reasons. Her last day with the company will be August 12. The name of her successor remains under wraps for now.
Mitra’s journey with Titan is one etched in innovation, resilience and visionary leadership. Having begun her association with the brand in 1994, she briefly explored the corporate landscape with Hindustan Unilever before returning home to Titan in 2006. By 2020, she had taken the helm of the Watches and Wearables Division, a period marked by sweeping transformations.
With a discerning eye for consumer sentiment and a heart committed to design excellence, Mitra helped reshape the narrative of Titan’s timekeeping story. From rejuvenating beloved brands like Raga to launching youthful and edgy lines such as Octane and Zoop, her strategy embraced both heritage and innovation. One of her proudest milestones was the 2024 debut of India’s first Flying Tourbillon watch crafted indigenously—a defining moment in Titan’s premium watchmaking journey.
An alumna of Jadavpur University with a degree in electrical engineering and an MBA from IIM Calcutta, Mitra is admired for her human-centric leadership style and bold thinking. She is often credited with steering Titan through a phase of international expansion and design-led growth, which included the company’s recognition at the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.
As the ticking hands of time turn toward a new chapter for both Titan and Mitra, her legacy remains embedded in the craftsmanship, creativity and courage she championed. The watch division she shaped continues to carry forward the essence of time itself—elegant, unstoppable and always evolving.
