In a move reflecting strategic growth and leadership transformation, UCO Bank has welcomed Sumit Khandelwal as its new Chief Financial Officer. The appointment takes effect immediately, with Khandelwal stepping into the role previously held by General Manager Sujoy Dutta.
At 48, Sumit Khandelwal brings a wealth of knowledge and over 15 years of banking experience across multiple key verticals of UCO Bank. His impressive academic and professional credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, a Bachelor’s in Law, and distinguished qualifications as a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, and Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (CAIIB).
Khandelwal’s journey through the corridors of UCO Bank has seen him excel in corporate branches, zonal operations, and core departments. Most recently, he served as the Zonal Head for New Delhi, where he led with insight and efficiency. His new role as CFO positions him at the heart of UCO Bank’s financial strategy and transformation initiatives.
UCO Bank, a prominent Government of India enterprise, stands tall with a widespread footprint. As of March 31, 2025, the institution operates 3,302 domestic branches and two international ones — in Hong Kong and Singapore — along with a representative office in Iran. A notable 61 percent of its branches are located in rural and semi-urban regions, reflecting its commitment to inclusive banking.
Complementing its branch network, UCO Bank has also built a strong digital and physical infrastructure with 2,522 ATMs and 10,653 Business Correspondent points, reaching a total of 16,480 customer touchpoints across the globe.
