Suhora Technologies, a Noida-based company, has announced a strategic partnership with US-based Orbital Sidekick (OSK) to introduce high-resolution hyperspectral satellite services to India.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone, positioning Suhora as the first Indian company to offer commercial operational hyperspectral data across the visible and short-wave infrared (VNIR-SWIR) spectrum.
Under this partnership, Suhora will integrate OSK’s advanced hyperspectral data into its proprietary SPADE platform. This integration is set to unlock unparalleled capabilities for detailed material detection and classification, with diverse applications spanning critical sectors such as mining, environmental monitoring, and strategic analytics.
The service will provide up to 472 contiguous spectral bands at an impressive 8.3-meter spatial resolution. This level of detail will significantly aid in various applications, including the precise mapping of rare earth minerals, accurate detection of oil spills, and vigilant monitoring of methane leaks.Â
Compared to other global providers, Suhora and OSK’s partnership is expected to deliver superior temporal frequency and even more precise data, offering a distinct advantage to Indian industries and governmental agencies.
