Starlink has started its first phase of hiring in India as the company moves closer to launching its satellite broadband services in the country. The SpaceX owned venture has opened applications for multiple finance and accounting positions based in Bengaluru, which will serve as its key operational centre in India.
The company has listed roles such as tax manager, accounting manager, payments manager and senior treasury analyst on professional job platforms. In its job announcement, the company said, “As Starlink expands its global footprint to deliver low latency satellite broadband services worldwide, its Indian subsidiary is looking to hire an accounting manager to oversee financial reporting and compliance.”
The selected candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining accounting and compliance systems that support Starlink’s presence in India. The company has clarified that these positions are strictly on site and only applicants with valid local work authorisation will be considered.
Starlink is preparing for a commercial launch of satellite internet services in India in late 2025 or early 2026. The company is currently establishing ground infrastructure and conducting required security checks as per government guidelines. It recently demonstrated its broadband service to officials in Mumbai to meet lawful interception and security standards set by the Department of Telecommunications.
Starlink has reportedly sought approval to set up three gateway stations in Mumbai, Chennai and Noida, with future plans to open more sites in cities such as Chandigarh, Kolkata and Lucknow.
Once operational, Starlink will compete with Jio Satellite and Eutelsat OneWeb, which are also preparing to roll out satellite based internet services. Final guidelines and pricing for satellite spectrum allocation are still being worked on by the Department of Telecommunications and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
