The leading retail health insurance provider in India, Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Ltd. (Star Health Insurance), has strengthened its operational and executive leadership skills by announcing important leadership upgrades and appointments.
Amitabh Jain, the Chief Operating Officer, has been named a Key Managerial Personnel and promoted to Whole-time Director. Having worked in the financial services industry for more than 25 years, Mr. Jain is an accomplished professional. Since 2023, he has been employed with Star Health, where he is presently the Chief Operating Officer. As a founding member of ICICI Lombard, Mr. Jain provides a wealth of knowledge on strategic growth and operational excellence. He has an MBA, an engineering degree, and a CFA charter.
The Chief Marketing Officer, Himanshu Walia, has also been promoted to Whole-time Director and named a Key Managerial Personnel. Mr. Walia has a wealth of expertise in the insurance industry spanning more than 22 years. As the Chief Marketing Officer, he has been a vital member of Star Health Insurance since 2007 and has been instrumental in establishing the company’s reputation and market share. He was a leader at Tata AIG and ICICI Lombard before joining Star Health. Mr. Walia has a marketing master’s degree.
The date of IRDAI clearance would be the start of both positions’ effective dates.
