In a step toward improving productivity tools, Speechify has introduced a new Windows app that enables users to dictate text and listen to content directly on their devices.
The app supports on-device processing on compatible PCs, while also offering optional cloud-based models. It works on Copilot+ PCs as well as any Windows 11 system powered by Intel or AMD graphics, with local processing available on supported hardware.
The platform includes advanced features such as neural text-to-speech, real-time voice detection using Silero, and transcription powered by Whisper. Users can switch between local and cloud models based on their needs and device capabilities.
Cliff Weitzman, founder of Speechify, said the goal is to make reading and writing more accessible and efficient, especially in workplace environments.
The company is also exploring the addition of meeting transcription features to its native apps in the future, which could further enhance productivity for users.
