Sony has introduced a new 27 inch gaming monitor designed for PlayStation 5 users who prefer a desk based gaming setup. The display offers a resolution of two thousand five hundred sixty by one thousand four hundred forty and supports HDR with automatic HDR tone mapping during the initial setup process. It delivers variable refresh rates up to one hundred twenty hertz on the PS5 and PS5 Pro, and up to two hundred forty hertz when connected to a Mac or PC.
The monitor includes two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort for computer connectivity. It also has a USB C port, two USB A ports for accessories such as the PlayStation Link wireless headphone adapter, and a three point five millimetre audio jack for wired headphones. Built in stereo speakers are available for users who prefer onboard sound.
One standout feature is a fold down hook at the back of the monitor that can hold and charge a PS5 DualSense controller. It supports only one controller but offers a convenient way to keep it powered and within reach during play sessions.
Sony has not yet revealed the price or exact release date. The company said the PlayStation 27 inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook will launch in the United States and Japan sometime in 2026. The last time Sony released a dedicated console monitor was in 2011, which featured a 24 inch screen with 3D support for the PlayStation 3.
