Sony Launches WH-1000XM6 Headphones in India with Advanced Noise Cancellation and Smart Features

Sony has launched its flagship WH-1000XM6 headphones in India, expanding its popular 1000X series. The latest model offers major upgrades in noise cancellation, sound quality, and smart features, aiming to deliver studio-level performance with minimal distractions.

Price and Availability
The WH-1000XM6 is priced at Rs 39,990 and is available in three colours: Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue. Customers can purchase it through Sony Centers, select Croma and Reliance outlets, and Amazon. In line with sustainability goals, the packaging is made entirely from paper-based materials.

Noise Cancellation and Audio Upgrades
The headphones feature Sony’s new HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3, which is seven times faster than the previous version. With twelve microphones, 1.5 times more than the WH-1000XM5, the XM6 offers precise real-time noise cancellation. The Adaptive NC Optimiser further improves performance by adjusting to environmental conditions and air pressure.

Sound quality has been enhanced with a new driver unit and a beamforming microphone system that boosts audio clarity and call quality. The AI-powered microphone setup separates the user’s voice from background noise, while the Sony | Sound Connect app offers custom settings including a 10-band equaliser and profiles for music, cinema, and gaming.

Design and Comfort
The WH-1000XM6 keeps the familiar 1000X design but adds improved comfort with a vegan leather headband and softer, stretchable earpads. The folding mechanism is more durable, and touch controls along with tactile buttons allow users to switch between modes easily. The headphones also come with a compact magnetic travel case.

Smart Features and Connectivity
Smart additions include Scene-based Listening, which adapts playback based on activity and location, and Quick Access for instant streaming on Amazon Music or Spotify. The device supports LE Audio, Auracast, Multi-Point connectivity, and Auto Switch. A three-minute quick charge provides up to three hours of playback, while USB charging allows listening during charging.

Immersive Audio
The XM6 supports Hi-Res Audio, Hi-Res Audio Wireless via LDAC, DSEE Extreme upscaling, and 360 Reality Audio Upmix for spatial sound. Gamers can use a dedicated Game EQ tuned with Sony’s INZONE expertise. Calls are managed by a six-microphone AI-based system with a mute button for instant control.

Sony’s WH-1000XM6 positions itself strongly against rivals like Bose and Apple, combining premium sound, advanced technology, and everyday usability.
