A major technology investment is set to boost Kerala’s industrial and digital ecosystem as a Dubai-based data infrastructure company moves forward with a large-scale project in the state.
Solstice Data has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch an investment project worth ₹52,600 crore at KINFRA Industrial Park. The development will take place within the industrial park located in Mattannur in Kannur district, according to an official statement issued on Sunday.
Under the agreement, 100 acres of land within the industrial park will be allocated to the company to build its planned facilities.
The MoU was officially exchanged in Thiruvananthapuram between Raj Babu Thulaseedharan, Country Head (India) of Solstice Data, and Santhosh Koshy Thomas, Managing Director of Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA).
The ceremony took place on Saturday in the presence of P Rajeev, Industries Minister, and P Vishnuraj, Director of Industries.
Solstice Data is known as a global leader in designing, developing and operating advanced AI-driven High-Performance Computing (HPC) data centres. Apart from its headquarters in Dubai, the company currently manages 60+ data centre projects across several international locations, including the United States and Canada.
Industries Minister P Rajeev stated that the new data centre, which will be developed in partnership with local collaborators, is expected to create significant opportunities within Kerala’s growing digital ecosystem.
According to the statement, the company plans to complete the full investment over a period of 5–7 years.
The KINFRA Industrial Park in Mattannur covers 175 acres, of which 123 acres are currently available for industrial use after infrastructure development. The park’s existing 36,000 sq ft Standard Design Factory has already been fully allocated for industrial activity, and land has been allotted to 12 other enterprises.
With the new agreement, 100 acres of the remaining land will now be used for Solstice Data’s project, marking an important step in the region’s industrial development.
