SolarEdge opens a global capability center in Bengaluru to track PV installations worldwide

Why India? Talent, Tech & Efficiency

The GCC structure in India enables SolarEdge India to take use of top-tier engineering and analytics skills, claims Sanjay Puri, Country Manager. “Earlier, each region independently managed their solar systems. Now, we are consolidating our monitoring and management operations under one roof in India to harness local expertise and improve efficiency,” he said in an interview with media.

Key Features of the India GCC

Real-Time Remote Monitoring: The Bengaluru team tracks energy output, consumption, and battery storage across installations worldwide using virtual dashboards.

Around-the-clock Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting: Engineers are able to remotely identify issues with meters and inverters, respond to error signals, modify system configurations, and instantly maximize performance.

Improved Performance Analytics: By producing yield projections and system performance data, the GCC may assist PV system owners in maximizing energy harvesting, reducing maintenance expenses, and increasing uptime.

Module-Level Insights: Precise alerts and granular fault detection are made possible by monitoring at the module, string, and system levels.

Growing Presence in India

Additionally, SolarEdge is expanding its business in India. The firm, which already employs 400 people, intends to add 200 additional expertise, including software developers, hardware engineers, electrical and mechanical engineers, power system specialists, and Internet of Things specialists.

“We aim to increase our market share in India’s PV sector from 5% to 10% in the coming years,” said Puri. The company’s products, which include EV charging systems, power optimizers, energy storage devices, and smart inverters, will all profit from the Bengaluru GCC’s expanded R&D and technical monitoring skills.

What This Means for the Solar Industry

The worldwide solar energy sector stands to gain from increased system uptime, enhanced site performance, and quicker issue response with SolarEdge’s GCC in Bengaluru. Additionally, the concept establishes a standard for how centralized digital infrastructure may accommodate the increasing complexity and scope of international renewable energy initiatives.
