Solara Active Pharma Sciences Limited has appointed new key executives, effective February 21, 2025. Sarat Kumar has been named the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Arun Kumar Baskaran, who stepped down for personal reasons. Kumar will also serve as a Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) for the company.
Additionally, Sandeep Rao has been appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO), subject to shareholder approval. He takes over from Poorvank Purohit, who resigned from the position due to personal reasons.
Vishal Mathur has been appointed as the Chief Business Officer (CBO) and will be part of the Senior Management Personnel (SMP).
Sarat Kumar brings over 18 years of experience, having held senior financial roles across various industries including pharmaceuticals, power, and oil & gas. He has previously served as the CFO at Tenshi Pharma and BioCina, and has also worked with Strides Pharma Science Ltd. and Shell Plc. He holds a Sloan Fellowship in Leadership & Strategy from the London Business School and is a member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
Sandeep Rao, with over 25 years of experience, is known for his strategic growth-driven approach. He recently served as CEO of Tenshi Pharma and has held leadership positions at Viatris and Biocon. Rao holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, and a master’s degree in chemistry from IIT Mumbai.
Vishal Mathur previously worked as the Chief Commercial Officer at Cohance Lifesciences and has extensive experience in marketing and business development in the API sector. He has held senior roles at Emcure and Glenmark Lifesciences, where he helped significantly grow their API business.
