In this role, he will oversee global compliance initiatives and support the company’s continued innovation and expansion across the region. Gaurav Ajmani begins this new chapter after a 12.5-year tenure at Amazon, where he held senior legal and compliance leadership positions. During his time there, he managed complex regulatory, governance, and risk matters while supporting rapid business growth across multiple geographies and business verticals.
At Amazon, Gaurav spent over a decade as Associate General Counsel. In this capacity, he led key legal and compliance functions and played a critical role in helping the organization navigate evolving regulatory environments across regions.
Before joining Amazon, Gaurav Ajmani served as Investigations Senior Manager at Microsoft Corporation. He led prevention, detection, and investigation of fraudulent activities across the APAC region. His responsibilities included building anti-corruption programs, strengthening compliance frameworks, and implementing data-driven anti-fraud controls in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Earlier in his career, Gaurav headed Fraud Intelligence & Compliance at Bharti Airtel Limited. There, he developed fraud detection models and enterprise risk controls to strengthen governance systems. He began his professional journey with GE and Compare Infobase Limited, where he worked in roles spanning risk management, operations, and business development.
Gaurav Ajmani holds an MBA in International Business from All India Management Association.
With extensive experience across global organizations and complex regulatory landscapes, his appointment marks a significant step in Snap Inc.’s compliance and governance strategy across APAC and MEA.
