Sify Infinit Spaces, a subsidiary of Sify Technologies, has announced a substantial investment of ₹16,466 crore to establish a state-of-the-art data center in Visakhapatnam. This significant project is set to bolster the region’s digital infrastructure and create new employment opportunities.
The investment will be rolled out in two distinct phases. In the initial phase, Sify Infinit Spaces will allocate ₹1,466 crore towards the development of the data center. The remaining funds will be channeled into the second phase of the project, indicating a long-term commitment to the facility’s expansion and capabilities.
Upon completion of both phases, the data center project is anticipated to generate approximately 600 jobs, contributing to local employment and economic growth in Visakhapatnam. This development aligns with the increasing demand for robust data infrastructure to support India’s digital transformation and the burgeoning cloud services market.
“This significant investment in Visakhapatnam underscores our commitment to expanding India’s digital backbone and supporting the nation’s growing data needs,” stated a representative from Sify Infinit Spaces. “The new data center will be a critical asset, providing advanced and secure infrastructure for businesses and driving digital innovation in the region.”
The project is expected to attract further technology investments to Visakhapatnam, positioning the city as a key hub for data and cloud services in the country.
